Introduce

OPEN COMMUNICATION AND UNDERSTANDING NEEDS

My process starts with a simple premise – understand my clients, both the culture and environment of their business as well as their architectural needs in terms of function, appearance, ideas, and site specifics.

From the first conversation with William A. Scott, Architect, I'm ask pointed questions to learn not just what kind of construction you want but also who you are. I believe that every Timmins project should reflect the collaboration between a property owner, my architectural firm, and the people that will use the space.

For me, starting on the right page hinges heavily on my ability to effectively communicate and gather information about the property in question. Over years, being high-level communicators has been one of my primary calling cards and has led to countless successful projects in the greater Timmins area, all delivered with complete satisfaction.

Initiate

USING EXPERTISE TO SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS

Every project in Timmins comes with it's own set of difficulties, many of which are identified in the first stage of my process. Some are small and easy to solve, but others address larger concepts, such as how a new construction will affect an existing area and community. In my Initiate phase, I answer those questions.

Physical inspections of the site help me determine hydrology and infrastructure concerns as well as how the proposed structure will fit into the context of the existing space. Rather than being an eyesore, I want your project to integrate well with its surroundings and create a seamless narrative. I'm also evaluate the environmental impact of the construction at the same time and research how similar projects have dealt with specific issues.

Armed with a valuable collection of data and information, William A. Scott, Architect will be able to move forward to the next phase of my process – turning the information into a workable plan using my architectural experience and training.

Integrate

CONSTRUCTING DETAILED PROJECT PLANS

Few clients come to William A. Scott, Architect with a fine-tuned plan about their project – that's my job. However, with an overarching sense of the project that's desired and complete with my own research and data collection, will start the monumental task of nailing down all the details.

Taking the entire property as a whole, my development of both built elements and outdoor space will occur at the same time, creating a baseline impression where I'm able to judge the environment and atmosphere of the project with detailed plans that both nail down specifics and inform the overarching feel of the space.

The goal of this stage of the process is to create a unified vision of what's expected from the project, from the perspective of the owner, those that will use the space, and my own design knowledge. My plans will incorporate this overall vision of the property down to the last detail.

Innovate

BUILDING THE FUTURE WITH MY CURRENT DESIGNS

The vast majority of architectural innovation is in response to clients, coming from dialogue about how I improve standard design ideas, building techniques, and material use. In presenting my plans to the client, I'm opening a dialogue to discover these innovations together as a collaboration that is based on both form and function.

From bringing in different construction styles to meet the spatial needs of a singular room to using my landscape architecture skills to develop increased function from existing outdoor spaces, every innovation I create is designed to be in harmony with the overall structure and how it will be used.

While innovation may start with William A. Scott, Architect and my clients, it extends through the entire team of people that work together to make the project a reality. By partnering with local contractors and other specialists that are open to exciting new ideas, I'm able to introduce innovative ideas while staying completely within the original spirit of the project.
